Start marking your calendars because Apple has sent out invitations for an event to take place on September 7th. That has been the rumored unveiling date for the Apple iPhone 7, Apple iPhone 7 Plus, and possibly the Apple Watch 2. The festivities begin at 10am Pacific Time and will take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
According to the latest rumors, we should see the 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 7 and 5.5-inch Apple iPhone 7 Plus greet the light of day without a 3.5mm earphone jack, but with waterproof capabilities. The iPhone 7 will sport a larger camera lens, and the iPhone 7 Plus will offer a dual camera setup on the back with the extra camera giving users an optical zoom feature. Both phones are expected to get as bump in battery life (to 1960mAh on the iPhone 7 and 2910mAh on the iPhone 7 Plus), and the 5.5-inch phablet will also receive a 50% jump in RAM to 3GB. Of course, both models will be powered by the A10 chipset.
As for the Apple Watch 2, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that there will be two versions of the timepiece. One will feature GPS and a barometer. Both new wearables will have improved waterproofing, battery life and a faster processor.
According to the previously rumored timeline, pre-orders for the new iPhone models will begin on September 9th, followed a week later with the launch. Do you think it’s a coincidence that Apple choose the 7th of the month to introduce the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus?
